What is the hotel cost calculator for?
This tool helps you estimate your hotel's current OTA commission costs, direct booking revenue, and the potential extra revenue you could achieve with Convertels at the same occupancy level. Results are for informational purposes only; actual outcomes depend on your property and implementation.
What do the parameters mean?
Each field in the calculator is used to estimate your hotel's revenue and cost structure:
- Number of rooms
- Your total room count. Used to compute annual room-nights.
- Average nightly room rate
- Your average selling price per night (excluding taxes). You can choose TRY, EUR or USD.
- Direct booking rate
- The percentage of your reservations that come from your website, phone or direct channels. The rest is assumed to come from OTAs (Booking, Expedia, etc.).
- Months open per year
- For seasonal properties, the number of months you operate; use 12 if you are open year-round.
- Annual occupancy rate
- Your average occupancy percentage during the period you are open.
- OTA commission rate
- The average commission rate (%) you pay on OTA bookings.
- Direct booking profitability rate
- The profitability rate (%) you achieve from direct bookings. This value cannot be lower than the OTA commission rate.
How to read the results?
The "Your current situation" card shows your estimated annual OTA commission and direct booking revenue based on the parameters you entered. The "With Convertels (same occupancy)" card calculates the potential extra income by factoring in lower OTA commission, higher direct revenue, and estimated advertising cost. The extra income figure is for information only and is not a commitment.
